Literacy Activities Especially for Families

We hope you will find many fun activities that you can enjoy as a family. You are welcome to take a look at any of the lessons, no matter what age your child is. To help you decide where to begin, we have organized the activities into two groups: Early Language Linked to Learning and Positive Behaviors Linked to Learning.

Please click on one of the links above that best describes where you would like to start.

Early Language Linked to Learning is the place where you will find literacy rich activities that you can learn and practice with your child.

Positive Behaviors Linked to Learning is the place where you will find strategies on how to connect with your child, teach your child the social skills they need to become a good friend, and strategies to try when faced with challenging behaviors.

Have fun!

Note: Remember, as you are trying these activities, you know your child best. Feel free to adapt the activities to best meet the needs, abilities and interests of your child. All children reach developmental milestones and develop different skills on their own timeline. All children are unique. If your child seems as though they haven’t reached one or more of these milestones, rest assured, he or she probably will soon. Your child’s rate of development is normal for your child. If you have concerns about your child’s development, don’t hesitate to ask your child’s doctor.
